Opioid Overdose
In Manitoba, overdose from all drugs is a growing public health concern. Opioid drugs, such as fentanyl, morphine, oxycodone, codeine, and heroin, are of particular overdose concern because they can cause respiratory depression which may lead to death.
Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living has a number of resources and programs aimed at reducing morbidity and mortality associated with overdose, including a take-home naloxone program.
